You’ve worked hard to build a life, care for the people you love, and create something worth passing forward. But if something happened tomorrow, would your family know where to find the information they need?
Past to Posterity helps individuals and families organize the documents, financial information, wishes, and important decisions that make up their legacy—before a crisis occurs and before they meet with estate planning, financial, and other professional advisors.
Because legacy planning shouldn’t begin with paperwork. It should begin with clarity.
Every episode approaches legacy from a different perspective, but our conversations often return to several important themes.
How do the financial decisions we make today affect the choices available to the next generation?
We explore financial literacy, money habits, wealth building, ownership, economic decision-making, and the financial conversations families need to have.
Would your family know what to do if you couldn’t tell them?
We explore family communication, getting organized, preparing for life’s transitions, documenting important information, and having conversations before a crisis makes them necessary.
How do we move from earning and consuming toward owning and building?
We talk about entrepreneurship, homeownership, investing, business ownership, economic empowerment, and creating assets and opportunities that can extend beyond one lifetime.
Money is only one thing we pass forward.
We explore the principles, lessons, traditions, faith, wisdom, and experiences that shape families and influence generations.
Legacy doesn’t exist only within individual families.
We examine the people, institutions, businesses, neighborhoods, and stories that shape communities and what it takes to preserve and build upon them.
Some of the most important legacy conversations are the ones families postpone.
Past to Posterity creates space to talk about the subjects that can be uncomfortable, complicated, deeply personal and necessary.
We Inherit The Past. We Influence What moves Forward.
Posterity means future generations.
Every generation receives something from those who came before.
Money.
Property.
Stories.
Values.
Opportunities.
Traditions.
Knowledge.
Sometimes even mistakes.
And then we face a choice.
What will we preserve?
What will we change?
What will we build?
What will we teach?
What will we intentionally pass forward?
That’s what the Past to Posterity podcast is ultimately about.
Not simply looking backward.
Not simply planning for the end of life.
But becoming more intentional about the decisions we’re making while we are here.

After listening, consider taking one question back to your family:
What is something our family needs to talk about that we keep putting off?
Maybe it’s money.
Maybe it’s family history.
Maybe it’s an important document.
Maybe it’s a business.
Maybe it’s property.
Maybe it’s a lesson.
Maybe it’s simply asking someone you love:
What do you want me to know?
That’s how conversations become part of legacy.
